GARDENING IN NORTH SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY

Gardening in the North County has many challenges. One is the
hot, dry summer weather, with almost no rain.
Another is the hardpan soil.
Rocks are abundant, and sometimes one can't get a shovel more than a
couple of inches deep into the soil.
Vineyards do very well here, and grapes are the main crop. A number weeds
and animals also make gardening challenging here. I'm going to focus primarily
on my own experience in Templeton
on this site. If you have experiences you'd like to add in Templeton or any
other part of the North County, please
email me your material and any pictures you'd like included, and I'll add it
as soon as possible.
